BiographyRoland Whitehorse was born April 6, 1920 in Carnegie, OK. He grew up in the Anadarko area, attended St. Patrick's Catholic Missions School, Riverside Indian School and then attended Bacone College 1947-1948...Dallas Art Institute 1951-1952. He served with the 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Div. of the U.S. Army. Roland worked at Ft. Sill on various Departments as an exhibit specialist with the Ft. Sill Museum to graphics illustrator for the Dept. of the Army. Roland was The Great-Grandson of To-hau-son, the last principal Chief of the Kiowas. He was an artist, historian and story teller. He also designed the official logo for the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma presently used today.Person TypeIndividual
