BiographyBorn in Sebring, Ohio, Paul Schreckengost was the son of a ceramicist, and the brother of ceramicists Viktor and Donald Schreckengost. Like his brothers, Paul studied at the Cleveland Institute of Arts, but left before graduating. Utilizing his training in sculpture, he went on to become the chief designer and mold maker for the Gem Clay Forming Company from the late 1920s until 1976. He died in Sebring in 1983, his career in ceramics design and manufacture spanning nearly fifty years.Information from Cooper Hewitt website (edited)
