DECORATIVE ARTS
When Waite and Genevieve Phillips donated Philbrook to become Tulsa’s first art museum, they also donated decorative arts objects that they had used to furnishing their elaborate home. These objects, which include 18th-century tapestries, stained glass windows, and furniture, became the foundation of the American and European Decorative Arts and Design Collection at Philbrook. Over the years, the collection has grown to contain over 1500 objects that range in date from the 16th century through the early 21st century and include glassware, ceramics, textiles, furniture, and design objects.
