Philbrook holds significant collections of African art, primarily wood sculpture, from over 120 cultural and ethnic groups in Central and Western Africa. Most of these works—including an array of masks, statuary, and ritual objects—were generous donations from Tulsa collectors Lawrence Gussman and Herbert and Roseline Gussman.
